GYSL’s policy is to encourage the RECREATIONAL and PARTICIPATORY aspects of the game. We recognize there will always be competition in any activity in which a score is kept, however, GYSL’s first principle is that RECREATION and PARTICIPATION comes first. GYSL’s motto is that “EVERYBODY PLAYS”. There are not tryouts. Everyone who signs up (on time) makes the team. No player on a team is to sit out more than half of every game. Coaches are pledged to his policy and the Gridley Recreation Department will enforce it. Most important of all, the League encourages a spirit of unpreserved and congenial good sportsmanship among players, coaches, and parents. Fall Schedules:

Gridley Youth Soccer League was founded in the 1980’s with approximately 300 boys and girls participating. GYSL now offers a fall season and has approximately 350 youth, ages 4-12 participating in the program. GYSL is for boys and girls in the U6 through U12 age divisions.
